A Room With a View

Having plunged into the depths of despair (e.g., the basement) I decided to shift my focus upwards.  My boudoir is at the top of the house.  At first glance there isn't much to see from my window:


There's nothing terribly exciting about the backs of houses converging on an alley.  If I look a bit to the left though, I see this:


Trees, trees and more trees; and beyond that the hills of Yorkshire.  I love that I can see for miles despite the impairment of weak eyesight.


This photo was taken last fall when there was still a tinge of colour to the leaves.  I am looking forward to autumn.  It's such a beautiful time of year, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

Knew the Keats before I followed the link! I think it is easily his most accomplished poem of negative capability. I ended up writing about it a little for my John Whale essay 1st term. It's lovely though; however, I prefer "Ode to Psyche" or "Ode to Melancholy."
